Stainless Steel Mold Cooling Module
This stainless steel cooling water channel module is a high-efficiency temperature control core component designed for injection molds, die-casting molds and precision equipment. Made of stainless steel and integrally formed via 5-axis precision machining, it features built-in complex flow channel structures with high thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance and pressure resistance. It enables uniform cooling of molds or equipment, shortening molding cycles and improving product consistency. Widely used in precision molds and industrial temperature control systems.
- Machining Process: 5-axis CNC machining, deep hole drilling, precision grinding
- Material: 304/316 Stainless Steel (customizable upon request)
- Accuracy: ±0.01 mm
- Surface Finish: Electropolishing / Passivation optional
- Pressure Rating: Up to 10 MPa (customizable per structure)
Internal Flow Paths Built for Controlled Mold Temperature
The stainless steel mold cooling module directs cooling media through areas where conventional straight drilling cannot provide even heat removal. Its internal channels can follow cavity contours, hot zones and restricted mold spaces, bringing coolant closer to the surfaces that require temperature control.
Yijiang machines the module from a solid stainless steel blank using five-axis milling and deep-hole drilling. Five-axis movement forms curved cavities, intersecting passages and angled inlet or outlet features, while deep-hole equipment creates long straight channels with controlled diameter and direction. Key dimensions can be maintained within ±0.01 mm when the channel geometry and inspection method support the stated requirement.
The solid construction removes welded seams from the main pressure-carrying body. This reduces potential leakage points and gives the module enough structural strength for pressurized cooling circuits used in injection molds, die-casting tools and industrial equipment.
Smoother Channels With Lower Scale Adhesion
Channel-wall condition affects coolant flow, pressure loss and deposit buildup. Electropolishing removes small surface peaks inside accessible passages, creating a smoother path that is less likely to retain scale or process residue. Passivation can also reinforce the stainless steel surface against corrosion from water, additives and cleaning chemicals.
Inlet size, outlet position, channel diameter and internal routing can be adjusted around the available installation space and required flow rate. Threaded ports, sealing grooves and mounting faces are machined in relation to the internal passages, helping the module connect accurately with hoses, manifolds and mold plates.
Technological Process
- Flow Channel & Structure Design: Optimize flow channel layout, cross-sectional dimensions and inlet/outlet structures based on customer temperature control requirements, and complete 3D model design.
- Material Cutting & Rough Machining: Cut stainless steel blanks to size and perform rough milling to remove most of the excess material.
- Precision Flow Channel Machining: 5-axis CNC machines complex cavities and flow channel contours; deep hole drilling processes straight flow channels to ensure size and smoothness.
- Flow Channel Surface Treatment: Conduct electropolishing or passivation treatment as required to improve inner wall smoothness, reducing scale adhesion and corrosion risks.
- Sealing & Pressure Testing: Complete module assembly and conduct pressure and leak tests to ensure no leakage and meet pressure requirements.
- Final Inspection & Delivery: Fully inspect the module dimensions, flow channel cleanliness, surface treatment and performance, then package and deliver qualified products.
Core Advantages & Applications
Common Applications
- Injection Molds: Cooling modules for high-precision, high-appearance requirement molds
- Die-Casting Molds: Temperature control cooling modules for high-pressure casting molds
- New Energy Equipment: Battery cooling plates, motor controller heat dissipation modules
- Industrial Temperature Control Systems: Temperature control components for precision machine tools and testing equipment
Before release, every stainless steel mold cooling module undergoes dimensional checks, channel cleaning and pressure testing. The inspection confirms that coolant can pass through the intended route without blocked sections, unstable connections or visible leakage under the specified test conditions.
