- Accuracy: Standard ±0.01 mm, ultra-precision ±0.005 mm tolerance for mating edges and mounting holes
- Surface Finish:anodizing
- Features: Fast heat dissipation, lightweight high rigidity, good electromagnetic shielding, stable batch consistency, supports small-batch orders
Solid Aluminum Housing for Thermal and Signal Control
A CNC machined aluminum enclosure provides mechanical protection, heat transfer and electromagnetic shielding within one metal housing. Yijiang mills the case from a solid 6061 aluminum blank rather than casting it, allowing the internal cavity, cooling ribs, threaded mounting points and cable openings to follow the electronic layout closely.
Machining the enclosure from one block creates continuous walls around the circuit area. This structure protects control boards and sensor modules from impact while limiting gaps that may weaken electromagnetic shielding. Aluminum also draws heat away from powered components, making the housing suitable for compact devices where internal airflow remains limited.
Built-In Features Reduce Secondary Assembly
Internal heat-dissipation ribs can sit near processors, drive boards or other heat-generating components. Machining these ribs as part of the housing removes the need to install separate metal heat sinks in some designs. Threaded bosses, connector windows, grounding points and reference edges can also form during the same machining sequence.
Multi-axis milling reaches recessed areas and openings on different sides of the enclosure. Controlled datums maintain the relationship between the cavity depth, cover interface, mounting holes and external profile. Precision deburring removes sharp edges around connector ports and internal pockets without rounding functional reference surfaces.
Solid-block machining avoids the shrinkage and porosity associated with die-cast housings. It also supports design changes without creating a new casting tool. This production route suits prototypes, replacement housings and recurring small batches with custom dimensions or changing port layouts.
Core Advantages & Common Applications
- Efficient Built-In Heat Dissipation Ribs: Integrated internal rib structure expands heat exchange area of circuit boards, quickly export operating heat of electronic components and reduce equipment failure rate caused by overheating.
- Excellent Electromagnetic Shielding Performance: Aluminum alloy metal material blocks internal electromagnetic radiation and external signal interference, stable operation of precision control circuits.
- Uniform Batch Dimensional Consistency: CNC solid block cutting avoids shrinkage deformation of die-cast housings; all enclosures in one batch share identical assembly clearance for interchangeable installation.
- Lightweight & Strong Structural Stability: 6061 aluminum greatly reduces overall equipment weight while maintaining enough rigidity to resist collision deformation during transportation and workshop use.
- Flexible Small-Batch Customization: No need for expensive die-casting molds, fast production turnaround for customized sizes, wiring hole layouts and internal rib structures.
Common Applications
Batch inspection can cover cavity depth, hole position, cover flatness, thread quality and external dimensions. Each CNC machined aluminum enclosure can also undergo trial assembly with covers, circuit boards or connectors to confirm clearance and interchangeability before shipment.
